PINK GOTHIC
1969
Silkscreen proofed onto Kent Hollingworth paper.
Description: Use of glue blockout, with the intention of allowing thin layers of colour to operate by themselves. Initially, an opaque coat of yellow and pink were separately applied, then a layer of transparent red and green. The final colours were thus determined by whether the transparent colour went over the pink or the yellow.
Printing: Proofed by the artist in his studio workshop, Jan. 1969 in 4 colours.
Exhibited: Armidale, June 1969
Sculpture Gallery (Lesta O’Brien), May 1969

Unnumbered proof gifted to Ron & Anne Robertson-Swan.
Prints numbered 1 – 13/20, with 5 artists’ proofs.
Notes. Extension in scale of Christmas card printed by the artist, Dec 68. Further intention of increasing the scale further, to say, 6 by 9 feet using acrylic on canvas applied thinly and allowing some of the raw canvas to show through as lines between the large areas of colour allowing them to breathe more easily. The colours could lend themselves to a "resurrection" theme.
