At last the Irving Gallery (Sculpture Centre) where Michael Snape's untidily hewn  steel, rusted sculptures ....................................

Inside is another mechanical marvel designed to run on tram tracks by Arthur Wicks.  It is composed of struts, and has oars that end in hands, this boat being about the origins of simple machines, having all the spatial simplicity and ingenuous awkward grace of early pumps, cars and aeroplanes.
